Located in Wantage, the development is part of the shared ownership scheme and is being delivered by Abri Homes.

Known as The Orchards, the development offers two, three, and four-bedroom houses starting from £112,875 for a 35 per cent share of a two-bedroom property.

Stuart Hensby, Sales & Marketing Director at Abri, said: “Our new range of Shared Ownership homes in Wantage will provide an opportunity for local families and existing homeowners looking for more space to take their next step.

“Whether it’s a growing family in need of an extra bedroom or a home office, Shared Ownership makes it possible to move into a larger home with lower upfront costs.”

A five per cent deposit means buyers could secure a home with as little as £5,644.

Shared ownership allows buyers to purchase a portion of the property while paying subsidised rent on the remainder.

Over time, owners can buy further shares through a process known as ‘staircasing’.

Monthly costs include mortgage repayments, subsidised rent, and a service charge, with buyers receiving a full breakdown before committing.

The Orchards is located just a few miles from Letcombe Valley Nature Reserve in a semi-rural area of Oxfordshire.

It is also a short drive from Didcot Parkway Station, which offers direct train services to London, Oxford, Bristol, and Cardiff.

Wantage town centre offers independent shops and cafes.
