Mini Police visit Thames Valley Police training school
The visit was part of Thames Valley Police’s Mini Police programme and took place in week nine of the scheme.
Children began their day in the training school’s museum, learning about the history of policing including old uniforms and traditional methods.
A highlight of the trip included taking part in a Photo Fit activity, where they created facial composites and learned how witness descriptions help police identify suspects.
The group was also thrilled to meet the force’s police dogs.
A TVP Oxford Facebook post said: “The Mini Police learned how these incredible dogs are trained, what skills they use on duty, and why they’re such an essential part of policing.
“They even got to have a play with Lilly, one of our newest and most energetic recruits, who was more than happy to show off her charm.
“A brilliant day full of learning, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
“Thank you to everyone at the Training School for welcoming us and giving our Mini Police an unforgettable experience.”
The Mini Police programme engages children with positive policing activities in their communities.
