The Kidlington restaurant in Bicester Road is now undergoing a makeover having shut on Monday, April 13.

A statement from the restaurant said it is expected to reopen on Friday, May 8.

It said: “And with that we’ve finished trading as Miller & Carter Kidlington as we know it.

“Keep your eyes peeled for our posts and stories for updates and snippets of what’s going to be happening whilst we’re away, as well as exciting news for the future.

“We wish you all the best whilst we’re shut for our refurbishment and can’t wait to see you all at the new Miller & Carter Kidlington.”

Miller & Carter said the nearest restaurant to Kidlington is in Didcot.

The Kidlington restaurant first opened in December 2016, taking over from the Kings Arms Harvester.

Phil Urban, chief executive of Mitchells & Butlers which owns Miller & Carter, recently said steak prices to buy for the supplier have have raced 30 per cent higher.

He said: “He said: “Some of our competitors have taken steak off the menu entirely.

“Where steak is not the core product, we have reduced the number of steak and beef dishes or re-engineered the menu.

“What I won’t do is change the quality of the meat or the portion size… and nor can we pass on all that (cost increase) on to the customer.”
