Michelin Guide restaurant opens new spot in Cotswolds
Canteen Cantee in Notting Hill is an Italian restaurant from the team behind acclaimed pubs The Pelican and The Hero, which launched in late 2024.
Located at 310 Portobello Road on the corner with Golborne Road, it operates a walk-ins-only policy and is known for queues down the street.
The restaurant was added to the Michelin Guide soon after opening and was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 guide for its “no‑nonsense, flavour‑driven” Italian cooking at good value prices.

Now, the popular eatery is heading to the countryside this summer with a new pop-up at The Old Coal Yard near Chipping Norton, opening this June.
Bringing its relaxed Italian cooking to the Cotswolds, the restaurant will serve a menu of fresh pastas, pizzas and seasonal dishes that change weekly.
Opening dishes include Carne Cruda with broad beans and Pecorino Sardo; Crab, Fennel & Chilli Risotto; Mortadella, Ricotta & Lemon Pizza; and Chicken with Sage & Milk, with puddings including Chocolate Mousse and Apricot Frangipane Tart.

The drinks list will feature regional Italian wines from Piedmont, Tuscany and Sicily as well as cocktails, digestifs and Italian beers.
Led by Executive Chef Jessica Filbey and Head Chef Lorenzo Nigro, the team will serve dinner from Thursday to Sunday, alongside weekend lunches, with an outdoor bar, fire-pit and all-day pizzas from our Gozney ovens.
Friday nights will feature live music, while Saturdays will bring kids’ games for families, and reservations are now open, with walk-ins also welcome.
