Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard opens martial arts school
Matt Fiddes, a long-time martial arts entrepreneur and founder of the MF Dance & Martial Arts network, has announced the launch of a new school in Carterton, offering classes for children aged three to 15.
The Carterton branch will offer high-energy martial arts training focused on boosting confidence, discipline, and teamwork in a fun and supportive setting.
Business partners and spokespersons for the MF Martial Arts team, Mr Neil and Mrs Joanna Miles, said: “Martial Arts gives children a powerful way to express themselves.
“We see children grow week by week – not just in ability, but in confidence, friendships, and self-belief.
“Every child deserves a space where they feel included, valued, and able to shine.”
Mr Fiddes, a former bodyguard to Michael Jackson, has spent over two decades developing one of the UK’s largest youth development and martial arts organisations.
The Carterton school marks part of a wider UK expansion for MF Martial Arts, all centred on inclusion, positivity and personal development for every child.
As demand for children’s extracurricular activities continues to rise, the Carterton school aims to become a key hub for families looking for engaging, structured, and confidence-building activities outside of school.
Parents are now being invited to register interest ahead of the official opening date, with places expected to fill quickly.
