Man and woman arrested in Oxford amid large police presence
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon (March 24) as Thames Valley Police officers attended Bonn Square in the city centre.
A man and a woman were arrested, but the police force has yet to confirm either suspect’s age or what they were officially apprehended for.
Police did confirm that no one was injured during the city centre incident.
During the arrests, there was a large police presence in the area, prompting Thames Valley Police to issue a statement this evening, explaining the situation.

This afternoon, officers attended an incident in Bonn Square and requested urgent assistance while detaining two wanted individuals, resulting in a large police response.
No injuries were reported. A male and a female have been arrested.

The update, published across the force’s social media pages, said: “This afternoon, officers attended an incident in Bonn Square, Queen Street.
“Urgent assistance was requested while detaining two wanted individuals who were failing to comply with officers. This resulted in a large police response.
“We can confirm that no injuries were sustained by officers or the individuals involved.
“A male and a female have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.
