The usual busy Tuesday morning traffic was made worse today, (Tuesday, June 2), by a crash and flooding on the M40 at two different junctions.

Those heading southbound across the border to Buckinghamshire were delayed by flooding on the southbound carriageway between junction five with Stokenchurch and junction four with the High Wycombe/Handy Cross Roundabout.

Water on the road closed the third lane of the motorway, resulting in slow traffic as driver navigated the incident which was first reporting at about 8am.

Shortly afterwards, a crash occurred further up the motorway in Oxfordshire, at junction nine with Bicester.

It occurred on the exit ramp of the northbound carriageway where drivers were coming off the road at the junction with the A34.

One lane of the slip road was closed and traffic was moving slowly for several hours after the incident, which occurred at about 8.30am but did not clear for several hours.
