M40: Driver fined £200 for driving too slowly on motorway
Whilst on patrol along the M40 between Thame and Bicester yesterday (Sunday, March 22), Thames Valley Police officers identified a vehicle travelling “unusually slowly” in lane one.
This was causing potential disruption to traffic flow, and as officers drew alongside, the driver was clearly seen using a mobile phone and attempted to conceal it, says the police force.
The driver was stopped and issued with a traffic offence report, and due to the vehicle not being UK registered, a £200 roadside fine was issued along with six penalty points on their licence.

Elsewhere on their patrol, officers spotted a vehicle at Weston-on-the-Green on the A34, which had been previously stopped last month for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The same driver was located again, this time driving without displaying L plates and without a supervising driver.
Officers reported the driver for the offences, and the vehicle was subsequently seized.
Just over the border in Aylesbury, officers conducted speed enforcement in key locations following community concerns.

A number of drivers were found exceeding the limit and dealt with accordingly, says Thames Valley Police.
A Thames Valley Police statement shared on social media said: “The Roads Policing Special Constable Tasking Team were back out again today, proactively patrolling and targeting offences to keep our roads safe.
“These patrols form part of ongoing efforts to reduce risk, tackle repeat offenders, and keep all road users safe.
“Please remember not to use mobile phones while driving.
“Learner drivers must be properly supervised and display L plates, and always adhere to speed limits and drive responsibly.”
