Marston’s has unveiled 50,000 of these special glasses, featuring a design inspired by the St George’s flag, available across more than 700 pubs across the country.

In Oxford, residents can purchase the keepsakes at the Cow & Creek on New Road, Seacourt Bridge on West Way, Botley, and Corner House in Headington.

The glasses, which come in a take-home box, will be on sale from June 11, coinciding with the start of the World Cup.

Costing £5 each, fans can alternatively “unlock” one for £2 when purchasing a round of drinks.

The commemorative glasses pay homage to fans who have celebrated and commiserated in local pubs over the years.

From Gazza’s tears at Italia ’90, to the excitement of Euro ’96, England’s resurgence under Gareth Southgate, and the Lionesses’ historic UEFA European Women’s Championship victories, these glasses celebrate the communal spirit of England’s football fans.

Neil Campbell, chief operating officer at Marston’s, highlighted the role of pubs in “uniting communities during major events like the World Cup”.

He said: “The World Cup is one of those moments in the calendar that brings the whole country together, with pubs right at the heart of the action.

“We wanted to create something special for England fans – a keepsake that captures those shared good times and gives our guests something to take home with them.”
