Kidlington pub reopens after three-week refurbishment

The Red Lion in Kidlington has welcomed back customers after a three-week transformation with a fresh look and a revamped menu.

The Ember Inns pub now features new seating, a refreshed bar area, and an improved beer garden.

Heather Turner, general manager at The Red Lion, said: “There’s nothing better than seeing both new and familiar faces settling in by our fire.

“We can’t wait for everyone in the community to see what we’ve done with the place.

“Whether you’ve been coming here for years or you’re stepping through our doors for the first time, you’ll still find that cosy, warm welcome that makes this pub so special.”

She added: “Creating a welcoming atmosphere where the local community can come together, have fun and make lasting memories is at the heart of what we do, and we’re always looking for new ways to bring people through our doors.”

The pub offers a fixed-price menu with three courses starting at £10.49 from 12pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and £13.79 after 5pm.

New menu items include grilled salmon fillet, pork tomahawk, and a katsu chicken rice bowl.

Desserts feature a banoffee sundae and a Belgian chocolate brownie.

It also offers a fixed-price Sunday lunch menu with up to three courses available, including the classic pub roast, with guests able to add a three sides bundle of cauliflower cheese, stuffing wrapped in bacon, and Yorkshire puddings for £7.

The pub remains dog-friendly, with treats and water available on request for four-legged visitors.
