Jeremy Clarkson takes shot at council for ‘damage’ to Cotswolds farm

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter has reinvented his image as a voice for British farmers since taking over Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington and launched hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm.

Not afraid to take aim at those who make life as a farmer more difficult, the star has been embroiled in more than one debate with the local authorities, over parking, planning and other issues.

Now, he’s taken another shot at both local and national government, in response to criticism that he doesn’t give the damaging effects of climate change enough air time.

It stemmed from a response to Clarkson’s traditional A-level results day post on X, which he has been running for 14 years in a row and which this year said: “Don’t worry if your A-level results are disappointing.

“I got a C and two Us. And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eat food from my own farm. Prepared by my own chef.”

In response, one X user wrote their own parody, which said: “Don’t worry if your A-level results are a bit disappointing.

“I got a C and two Us. I spent most of my career discrediting climate change, only for it to completely ruin the farm that I bought to avoid paying tax.”

Clarkson responded: “Actually, local and national government do most of the damage.”
