Jeremy Clarkson reacts as bomber plane soars over Cotswolds pub
The 65-year-old purchased the watering hole in Asthall near Burford for around £1,000,000 a couple of years ago when it was still known as The Windmill.
Having performed major renovations, the pub opened its doors to the public in August 2024, renamed The Farmer’s Dog.
The pub, which serves Mr Clarkson’s alcohol brand Hawkstone on tap, featured in the most recent series of Clarkson’s Farm, which was released last year.

I love it when they do that low level stuff
— Jeremy Clarkson (@JeremyClarkson) April 7, 2026
One customer at the pub has now shared a recent clip from the beer garden, which showed a large bomber plane flying overhead.
The patron said on social media site X: “The surreal feeling of being at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmers’ Dog, while nearby the RAF trains for a possible WW3…”
Mr Clarkson responded to the post and video, and said: “I love it when they do that low-level stuff.”

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour host’s watering hole is in close proximity to RAF Brize Norton as well as Oxford Airport.
He is expected to return to screens next month with the release of Clarkson’s Farm series five on Prime Video.
No official release date has been provided as of yet, but Mr Calrkson himself suggested it would be in May, like previous seasons.
A total of eight new episodes are expected to drop, with the focus again being on Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington as well as The Farmer’s Dog pub.

“In many ways, these songs mark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life.”
The first single, Simpler Time, is already out, which the 59-year-old said is “a reflection on my youth and the memory of a time that felt more reliable culturally, socially and politically”.
He added: “I am aware that the memory of one’s youth is often seen through rose-tinted glasses, but in this instance, personally, I don’t think so.”
The actor will tour Europe, the UK, Ireland and North America this spring and summer, with Oxford one of only a handful of British dates.
