Households urged to sign up for bin collection service
Those living within the West Oxfordshire district now sign up for the 2026/27 garden waste subscription service.
The annual fee is remaining for the upcoming financial year at £52.50, or £2.18 per collection for this year.
The popular service offers a convenient and environmentally friendly way for households to recycle garden waste directly at the kerbside.
With collections running throughout the gardening season, subscribers can dispose of grass cuttings, hedge trimmings and other green waste without making trips to the tip.
All garden waste collected on site is fully recycled through approved facilities before being repurposed into sustainable materials such as compost and soil improvers.
The service continues to benefit from advanced in-cab technology, which allows collection crews to instantly identify subscribed bins.
This smart system improves route efficiency, reduces missed collections and ensures crews only empty bins that are registered to the service.

This means for this year subscribers to the service will not be issued a licence, the council has warned users.
Lidia Arciszewska, cabinet member for environment, said: “We’re committed to making it as easy as possible for residents to manage their garden waste responsibly.
” This service provides a convenient kerbside collection, with no increase in the annual subscription price, ensuring households can continue to dispose of garden waste in an affordable and environmentally responsible way.
“By introducing in-cab technology, we’re also enabling faster, more accurate collections, improving reliability and efficiency for residents.
“Together, these improvements support our wider commitment to sustainability and delivering high-quality, value-for-money services for our communities.”
Garden waste must not be disposed of in general waste (grey/black) bins, West Oxfordshire District Council says.
Residents are encouraged to either subscribe to the council’s dedicated garden waste collection service, take items to a designated recycling centre or compost suitable materials at home.
