Henley swim event founder inquest to open next week

Jeremy Laming was one of the founders of the annual Henley Swim event and co-founder of the popular outdoor swimmer shop, Selkie.

An inquest into his death will be opened by Darren Salter at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, June 17 after the passing of the 55-year-old was announced on Monday, June 1.

The ex-rower founded Henley Swim with Tom Kean in 2004 when the pair thought it would be fun to swim the Henley Royal Regatta course at sunrise.

Each year, hundreds of wild swimmers gather at the start of the course on the River Thames to take part in the annual classic swim, as well as other events held throughout the year.
