Paolo Giamattei, based at Marc Antoni in Henley-on-Thames, is in the running for the award as part of HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards 2026, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional.

The awards are among the most prestigious in the industry, recognising creativity, technical skill and innovation across the UK.

Mark Moloney, managing director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, said: “The British Hairdressing Awards showcases the incredible depth of talent within our industry.

“This year, our finalists have raised the bar, delivering work that is not only technically outstanding but also creatively inspiring.

“These collections reflect the innovation, passion and dedication that make British hairdressing admired around the world.

“To be named a finalist is a remarkable achievement, and I would like to congratulate everyone who has reached this stage of the competition.”

The first round of judging took place on July 20 at Novotel London West, where hundreds of entries were reviewed across 18 regional, international and specialist categories.

A second round of judging will be held on October 4 during Salon International at ExCeL London, where winners will be selected.

Mert Eren, general manager for Henkel Consumer Brands Hair Professional UK & Ireland at Schwarzkopf Professional, said: “At Schwarzkopf Professional, we are proud to support an event that celebrates the artists and innovators driving our industry forward.”

The winners will be announced on November 23 at a ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.
