Former Oxford United coach Hogg appointed Northampton boss
The recently-relegated Cobblers will compete in League Two next season after finishing rock bottom of League One.
Hogg takes over from former Newcastle United and West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan as permanent boss who was sacked on March 9 with the club in the relegation zone.
The new Northampton boss was assistant coach at Oxford under Liam Manning in 2023 before the duo departed for Bristol City in November of that year.

The 41-year-old also joined Manning at Norwich City in the summer of 2025 but left after Manning was sacked last November.
Hogg did not follow Manning to his most recent role at Huddersfield Town, of which the former U’s head coach recently left after a period of compassionate leave, and has now been appointed to his first managerial role.

On an initial two-year deal at Sixfields, the former Yellows assistant will be joined by ex-Cobblers captain Chris Doig who has been appointed assistant manager.
Hogg told the club website upon his appointment: “The work has already started to try and deliver a successful season.
“The teams I have coached in the past have placed great value on possession of the ball, to dominate opponents, and I still value those traits, but let me be clear, this is a results business and I have always wanted to win.”
