Former Oxford pub tenants in £30,000 debt enter liquidation
Paul and Phillipa Hitchcock, who previously ran The Butcher’s Arms in Headington, have placed their company, Long Hop Partnership Limited, into insolvency.
Creditors were appointed on May 1 to claim debts totalling £29,557, with almost £28,000 owed to NatWest bank.

The couple ended their tenancy at the Wilberforce Street pub in May 2023 but the venue, owned by Fuller, Smith & Turner, continues to operate and is said to be flourishing under current tenant Ian Stuart, who also runs the Harcourt Arms in Jericho.
Mrs Hitchcock said they had hoped to take on another pub but “health and family issues” meant they had to abandon that plan and “finally formalise” the dissolution of the company.
A Fuller’s spokesperson said it does not comment on previous tenants but confirmed the current tenant has successfully run The Butcher’s Arms for three years.
