Flagship CNN travel show filmed in Cotswolds for global audience

 Richard Quest visited various sites across the region and undertook many quintessential Cotswolds’ experiences on Quest’s World of Wonder.

In the latest episode of Quest’s World of Wonder, the host travels through the English countryside, visiting the designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

As he travels through the myriad picture-perfect villages, Mr Quest visits Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.

He also meets Daylesford’s Farms Director to explore lambing, making honey, and partaking in afternoon tea.

Mr Quest starts his journey at Highgrove House and Gardens and speaks with Head of Horticulture Melissa Simpson.

Discussing the involvement King Charles III has in the gardens, she said: “It’s a gorgeous place.

“It’s just short of 15 acres, and as part of that, we’ve got a lovely four acres of wildflower meadow.

“We’ve got a whole host of different features, lots of statues, and really lots of things that His Majesty’s experienced and loved and seen around the world, he’s brought and put into his garden.

“Colour is important because His Majesty has got a great eye for colour and for design. There’s so much crammed in; it is kind of like his life in a garden.”

Ms Simpson tells Mr Quest that the produce from Highgrove’s Kitchen Garden and added: “Serves His Majesty, and then a surplus goes to be sold in the shop, making it into jams and things like.”

Mr Quest also tries his hand at clay pigeon shooting and visits Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre.

He also has a crash course in dry stone walling from the Cotswolds Dry Stone Walling Association.

At Blenheim Palace, Mr Quest helps the team prepare to welcome the day’s first visitors.

Whilst there, he also sees an important restoration project and meets Head Gardener Andy Mills, who says Blenheim is “The English Versailles”.

“It is about grandeur, and opulence, and power,” added the gardener.

Mr Quest summed up his visit to the Cotswolds as he said: “From cute and charming cottages to majestic, magnificent manor houses.

“The Cotswolds has got it all. It’s truly the destination for all seasons, and that’s why you’ll want to come here and visit it for yourself.”
