Five caravans with cars arrive overnight in Oxford park
A local reported that at least five caravans alongside other vehicles had pitched up in Bertie Park, in Bertie Place off Abingdon Road, on Wednesday, August 12.
They said the group have set up barbecues on the parched grass and have dogs running free, and are believed to have arrived overnight on Tuesday.

Caravans and vehicles were pitched at different points around the perimeter of Bertie Park, including just off the path and by the children’s play area, with a large group of people seen with them.

The local, who did not want to be named, said officers from Thames Valley Police visited the suspected unauthorised encampment on Wednesday night and were engaging with the campers.
Oxford City Council and Thames Valley Police have both been approached for comment.
