Firefighters rush to field fire in Oxfordshire village
The latest wildfire broke out in the village of Goosey, near Wantage, at about 3pm on Monday, August 24.
Four fire engines attended the blaze at Pinnells Farm in Goosey Lane, with multiple people reporting hearing sirens as emergency responders rushed down the rural lanes to the farm.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that four crews responded to tackle the fire, and worked for more than an hour to put out the worst of the blaze.
By about 4.45pm, the flames had been put out and firefighters worked on securing the agricultural area, by damping it down.
The full statement from a fire and rescue spokesperson said: “Fire and rescue were called to a field fire at Pinnells Farm, Goosey at around 3pm. Four fire engines attended.
“Firefighters tackled the fire and have now moved on to damping it down.”
