Ex-Oxford United man Jamie Donley close to Luton Town move from Spurs

Donley spent the second half of last season on loan at Oxford from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur as the U’s were relegated from the Championship.

He was the first of eight January additions as United looked to survive under Matt Bloomfield and the 21-year-old did help improve the side on the ball when first introduced to the team.

After missing a month of action after picking up an injury on his debut – an FA Cup third round tie against MK Dons – Donley went on to play 15 times for Bloomfield’s U’s.

Oxford did include an option to buy in his loan deal but did not trigger the clause and the Northern Ireland international is now reportedly close to a move to Jack Wilshere’s Luton.

According to Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold and Lilywhite Rose, Donley is undergoing a medical today ahead of a season-long loan move to the Hatters.

The move would be the fourth loan transfer of the young attacking midfielder’s career.

The former Yellow enjoyed a breakout season in 2024/25 with Leyton Orient in League One before spending the first half of the last campaign with Stoke City in the Championship.

In OX4, Donley scored one goal and managed one assist, the goal coming in a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the Kassam Stadium in March.
