Doctor Who legend wishes she worked with Jodie Whittaker
The actress, who lives in South Oxfordshire, played the Doctor’s wife, River Song, from 2008 up until 2015.
She worked alongside three different iterations of the Time Lord during her time on the show as fan favourite River.
From 2008 to 2015, Ms Kingston starred in adventures with David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi.

Mr Capaldi’s 12th Doctor would then go on to regenerate into the 13th Doctor in 2017, played by Ms Whittaker.
The 44-year-old actress, known for roles in Broadchurch, Trust Me and Dear England, became the first female iteration of the character.
Now, during an exclusive chat with the Oxford Mail, Ms Kingston revealed she wished she had worked with Ms Whittaker on the popular sci-fi show.

Ahead of the OUH Staff Recognition Awards 2026 last month, the 63-year-old was asked which incarnation of the Time Lord she would have liked to star opposite.
Ms Kingston replied: “It’s partly because I’ve met her at Comic Con and we get on so well, but I would have loved to have done something with Jodie.
“She’s so great, and Mandip [Gill] as well is fantastic, but I think maybe it would have been too much estrogen in one room!”
