Didcot man arrested for ‘multiple exposure offences’
Thames Valley Police’s neighbourhood team for Didcot and Wallingford arrested a man on suspicion of exposure offences following a report of indecent exposure in the town earlier today, Monday, August 24.
Police said the arrest comes as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple reports of similar crimes in the area, and they are working to find out if the offences are linked.
A spokesperson for the force said: “The arrest follows an investigation into a number of reported incidents in the local area.
“Detectives and neighbourhood officers are continuing to work together to establish whether there are any links between this individual and other reported offences.
“As part of ongoing enquiries, officers have seized items for examination and the investigation remains active.
“At this stage, the individual remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
“As criminal proceedings may follow, it would not be appropriate to comment further on the circumstances of the case or identify the person involved.
“We understand incidents of this nature can cause significant concern within the community.
“We would like to thank those who have come forward to report incidents and provide information to assist our investigation.
“Anyone who believes they may have witnessed a similar incident, or who has information that may assist our enquiries, is encouraged to contact Thames Valley Police via 101 or online, quoting the relevant incident number if known.”
Police advised people to always call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is at immediate risk.
