Customers queue up outside new traditional butcher’s shop
Brown’s Traditional Butchers opened in the town’s Bath Street on Saturday and attracted lots of interest from shoppers.
Many people in the town have been looking forward to the return of a traditional butchers to the town as an alternative to buying meat in the supermarkets.
Following the opening, owners Martin and Louise thanked customers for their support.
They posted on Facebook: “What a whirlwind of a weekend!
“We honestly don’t know where to begin, other than to say thank you.
“Opening our own butcher’s shop has been a dream we’ve worked so hard for. There have been long days, sleepless nights, and so much hard work behind the scenes to make it happen.
“To finally open our doors and see so many of you come through them has been overwhelming in the best possible way.”
The post added: “To our incredible family and friends, thank you for standing by us, helping us, encouraging us, and believing in us every step of the way. We couldn’t have done this without you.
“To every single customer who visited us over the opening weekend, thank you for your patience while we found our feet. We were completely blown away by the queues and support.
“We know there were longer waits than anyone would have liked, but your kindness, understanding, and lovely comments meant the world to us.
This is more than just a butcher’s shop to us – it’s the start of a dream that we hope will be part of the Abingdon community for many years to come. We promise to keep learning, improving, and giving you the quality, service, and products you deserve.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making our opening weekend one we’ll never forget. Here’s to the future!”
