Cotwolds charity issues appeal to fund surgery for Rolo

Rolo, an eight-month-old Jack Russell cross Corgi, arrived at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home with a suspected untreated fracture, requiring immediate medical care.

The charity says Rolo needs specialist treatment, including x-rays and femoral head and neck excision (FHNE) surgery.

The estimated cost for Rolo’s diagnostics and surgery is £2,500.

Despite the discomfort, Rolo remains affectionate and trusting, according to the charity.

They said: “Our veterinary team has advised that Rolo now urgently needs specialist treatment, including x-rays and femoral head and neck excision (FHNE) surgery.

“This procedure will help relieve the pain he has likely been living with for some time and give him the opportunity to enjoy the happy, active life every young dog deserves.”

The charity has pledged to provide care for animals like Rolo, regardless of the challenges faced.

However, the scale of Rolo’s surgery has put pressure on their resources, prompting them to seek community support.

They have appealed for help to cover Rolo’s care costs.

Contributions of £10, £20, and £50 are suggested to help with pain relief, diagnostic imaging, and surgery and rehabilitation, respectively.

The charity has been caring for vulnerable animals for over 80 years, supporting more than 1,000 animals annually.
