Cotswolds rescue centre appeals for £5,000 to help dog Rolo

Rolo, who is being cared for by The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, needs surgery to remove the leg after veterinary investigations confirmed it could not be saved.

The charity has launched an appeal to help cover the cost of his care, which is now expected to reach around £5,000.

This will pay for veterinary investigations, surgery, pain relief, and ongoing rehabilitative care as Rolo adapts to life on three legs.

Sam Herniman, individual giving fundraiser, said: “Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Rolo’s story, and sent messages of support over the last few days.

“The response has been incredible, and we are so grateful for the kindness you have shown this little boy.”

Ms Herniman said amputation was the kindest option and would give Rolo ‘the best chance of living a pain-free, happy life’.

She added: “We know times are difficult, and we are already so thankful for the support we have received.

“If you are able to donate towards Rolo’s treatment, no matter the amount, it would make an enormous difference.

“Together we can ensure that Rolo’s next chapter is filled with comfort, care, and the second chance he deserves.”

Despite the setback, the charity is confident that with the right support, Rolo will go on to enjoy a full and happy life.
