CloudFirst has appointed Scott Lee as Chief Revenue Officer to lead its global sales organisation.
Lee joins the cloud, cybersecurity and infrastructure services provider with more than 25 years of commercial and technology leadership experience across managed cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure services, artificial intelligence and enterprise technology.
He will oversee the sales function as CloudFirst works to align sales, partnerships and revenue generation more closely. The appointment is part of a broader investment in staffing as demand rises for cloud, cybersecurity and managed services.
Before joining CloudFirst, Lee was Managing Partner and Chief Revenue Officer at technology advisory firm Levreg Partners. He also served as Chief Revenue Officer at AYR, formerly Singularity Systems, and at cloud services provider Matrix IBS.
Earlier in his career, he held senior global channel and alliance roles at WorkFusion, Amelia and ServerCentral, gaining experience across partner networks as well as direct commercial leadership.
CloudFirst provides managed cloud hosting, data protection, cybersecurity and infrastructure services for organisations running mission-critical systems. Its offering includes IBM cloud hosting, Intel cloud services, Microsoft security and licensing, patch management, backup, and disaster recovery.
Lee’s remit also includes helping shape CloudFirst’s commercial approach as it expands internationally and seeks closer coordination between customer, sales and partnership strategies.
Wayne Kiphart, Chief Executive Officer of CloudFirst, outlined the reasoning behind the hire.
“Scott has spent much of his career building revenue organisations and developing routes to market across cloud, cybersecurity and enterprise technology. He understands both the commercial opportunity in these markets and the importance of earning the trust of customers and partners.
“As CloudFirst continues to grow globally, we want to make sure our sales, partnership and customer strategies are working together. Scott brings the experience and perspective to help us do that, and I am delighted to welcome him to the business,” said Kiphart.
Commercial focus
The appointment comes as providers of cloud and security services sharpen their sales strategies amid sustained corporate spending on infrastructure resilience, data protection and managed IT operations. For companies serving mission-critical workloads, sales leadership often extends beyond new business to partner management and long-term customer retention.
Lee said his decision to join CloudFirst reflected both the company’s technical focus and the market it serves.
“What attracted me to CloudFirst was the combination of deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of the pressures facing organisations running mission-critical systems. The company has built strong capabilities across cloud, cybersecurity and managed services, and there is a real opportunity to take those capabilities to more customers.
“My first priority is to spend time with the people who know the business best: our customers, partners and colleagues. From there, we’ll focus on building a commercial strategy that drives growth without compromising the customer relationships and technical depth that define CloudFirst today,” said Lee.
CloudFirst supports customers through migration projects and the ongoing management of IT environments, with an emphasis on resilience, continuity and operational performance.
Lee’s arrival adds an executive focused on revenue and market strategy at a time when managed service providers are competing for a larger share of cloud modernisation and security work from organisations seeking external support for complex infrastructure estates.
