The former Red Bull F1 boss and his Spice Girl wife share their £9.2m mansion near Banbury on the Oxfordshire border.

However, in recent months they have been locked in several planning rows with their village neighbours.

Recently they submitted fresh planning applications for an oak-framed pergola and gazebo in the garden of their posh countryside home after they lost their latest planning battle.

The couple have now been granted planning permission for the oak-framed pergola already built in their back garden.

Granting permission, planning officer Forrest Childs said in a report: “Due to its siting, scale and design it is considered that the proposed development would be sympathetic to the context of the dwelling and would be compatible with the appearance, character, layout, scale and design of existing dwellings in the area.

“It is also considered that the proposal would provide adequate standards of amenity and privacy for existing and/or proposed residents.”

However, the couple are still waiting to hear back on their oak framed gazebo with lead roof and a brick-built pizza oven, which was dubbed “illegal” in national reports as it was built without permission.

As reported, one neighbour had accused the celebrity couple of “rubbing our nose” in it by putting fairy lights on the pergola and showing a “complete disregard” for the regulations.

Last year they were granted planning permission to build a second pool on the grounds despite fears that it would be a “blot on the landscape”.

The applications comes three years after Geri and Christian were also granted permission for a first floor extension, a replacement barn and a new greenhouse.
