Chipping Norton residents offered free help to spot scams
The drop-in takes place at the town hall on Wednesday, June 24, from 9.30am to 2pm and is a joint effort by Barclays Bank, the Chipping Norton Neighbourhood Police Team, and Trading Standards.
Visitors can speak about scam concerns, rogue traders, spam emails, texts and calls, internet and investment fraud, and receive practical guidance on protecting themselves.
Organisers will offer ‘no cold calling’ stickers, advice on dealing with scam calls, information on call blockers, and copies of The little book of BIG scams.
Attendees can also access lists of reputable tradespeople and tips for planning property maintenance or improvements.
Organisers are encouraging people to drop in even if just to say hello, as there will be a wide range of general crime prevention advice available.
