New Dragon House in Black Bourton Road, Carterton, blamed an “economic downturn” on the demise.

Its final day will be Saturday, June 20.

A statement from the business owners on Monday morning said: “It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that, after 20 years of trading, our business will be closing.

“Our final day of trading will be Saturday, June 20. Unfortunately, the recent economic downturn has made it increasingly difficult for us to continue operating.

“On behalf of the entire team, thank you sincerely for being part of our journey. We wish you all continued health and happiness in the future.”

There are a raft of “zombie” companies, which have struggled along for years, but may be forced into collapse in the year ahead, according to a report from Begbies Traynor.

Julie Palmer, partner at the business firm, said: “We see a new catalyst in 2026 that could push some over the edge, as HM Revenue and Customs starts to call in some of the £27 billion in overdue corporation tax, PAYE and VAT following the pandemic.”
