The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford will soon host the Parkinson’s UK – A Garden for Every Parkinson’s Journey garden, designed by BBC presenter and gardener Arit Anderson.

The garden was displayed at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show and won the People’s Choice Award.

Funded by Project Giving Back, a charity that supports gardens for good causes at Chelsea, the garden will be permanently relocated to the hospital and maintained with support from the local Parkinson’s community.

To raise funds for the reimagined space, a plant sale will take place at the John Radcliffe on Sunday, May 31, from 11.30am to 3pm—or until all the plants have gone.

Some of the plants available will come directly from the Chelsea Flower Show garden, offering the public a chance to take home a piece of the experience.

Proceeds will help fund new planting for the hospital garden.

The John Radcliffe was selected as the garden’s home due to its status as a Parkinson’s Centre of Excellence and its strong ties to Parkinson’s UK.

Arit Anderson and her team are involved in redesigning the space, focusing on year-round interest.

The garden’s final designs are awaiting planning and listed building consent, with a decision expected in July.

Visitors are advised that many plants are well developed and in large pots that may be hard to carry and you will need to transport them home on the day.
