Three fire engines responded to the incident in total, spending just under an hour at the scene, departing at 7.30pm.
These came from Thame Fire Station as well as from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, given the close proximity of the blaze to the border.
A spokesperson from Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service today (Wednesday, March 25) said: “We were called on Tuesday, March 24 at 6.35pm, sending a fire engine from Thame Fire Station.
“Two were also sent from neighbouring Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to the M40, junction 6 to 5. Crews extinguished a car fire using a hose reel jet.”
