Camera club: Photo of colourful rose after rain is a winner
That was the latest weekly theme and while there hasn’t been much rain during the heatwaves, they found a wide variety of rain-drenched shots to provide some refreshment in the dry weather.
Various beaches from across the UK were featured, and well-known Oxford landmarks during downpours, plus rainy days in gardens.

It was, as always, difficult to pick a winner for photo of the week but in the end we selected Julia Johnson-Fry’s close-up of this beautiful pink rose covered in raindrops after a shower.
Julia sent in a selection of rain-filled photos and this image stood out.
Each week camera club members post their photos on the club’s Facebook page and some are then featured in the Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times, before one photo is chosen as the photo of the week.
