The park in Winterbrook Meadows was unveiled by the mayor of Wallingford, Nigel Hughes, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by residents, families, and members of the Berkeley team.

The park features a basketball court, a large climbing area, swings, slides, and open space designed for children of different ages.

Alan Dearing, sales director of Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern), said: “Winterbrook Meadows is a growing community, and creating a sustainable place is about much more than bricks and mortar.

“It is about delivering spaces where people can meet, children can play and families can spend time together.”

The play park is part of Berkeley’s wider community plan for the Winterbrook Meadows development, which aims to blend new housing with shared public facilities.

Mr Dearing said: “We are proud to be investing in amenities that will benefit the whole community for the future.

“With such a wide range of facilities, we hope the new play park will be a valuable addition not only for the families at Winterbrook Meadows but also for those across the wider Wallingford area.”

The opening follows the recent upgrade and reopening of Winterbrook Lane, which provides easier access between Winterbrook Meadows and the town centre of Wallingford.

Together, the new play park and improved road connection are helping to make the development more connected, accessible and established as part of the wider town.
