Tickets for Bicester Motion’s open-day motoring celebration, taking place on Sunday, October 4, were snapped up in just 22 hours, making it the second fastest sell-out in the 12-year history of the event.

Pegasus members bought a record number of tickets during an exclusive presale.

This autumn’s event will mark 50 years since RAF Bicester closed in 1976, a milestone that will be reflected in a series of displays and commemorations throughout the day.

Organisers have said more details about attractions and activities will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The April Scramble, held on Sunday, April 26, coincided with the 100th anniversary of RAF Bicester and featured 14 cars from 1926 displayed around a Bristol Scout aeroplane in Hangar 113.

A broad range of classic and modern vehicles took centre stage, including a BAR Honda 006 Formula 1 car, various Aston Martins, and a V4 Ford Transit.

Maserati’s centenary was also marked with special displays, featuring rare and historic models from the iconic Italian manufacturer.
