Bicester Motion shortlisted for range of prestigious awards
The former RAF base is in the running for regional, national, and industry honours, including the Commercial Property Awards, Construction News Awards, and Oxfordshire Business Awards.
The Commercial Property Awards, formerly the Property Week Awards, has named Bicester Motion one of seven finalists in the Outstanding Placemaking category for transforming the built environment through mixed-use development.
At the Construction News Awards, held the following night at the same venue, the company is shortlisted for Client of the Year.
The Constructing Excellence London & South East Awards, taking place at the Hilton Bankside Hotel, includes four nominations involving Bicester Motion and its construction partner, Kier.
The business could arrive at the ceremonies having already secured one win, with a nomination in the Large Business Award category at the Oxfordshire Business Awards.
This marks a decade since it won the Savills Property Award at the same event.
Bicester Motion, based on the 444-acre former RAF Bicester site, has become a national example of constructive conservation and now hosts a growing community of businesses focused on heritage, current and future mobility.
The site, largely derelict for decades, was listed on Historic England’s At Risk Register.
Under Bicester Motion’s care, 99 per cent of the buildings have been restored or reactivated for modern business use.
Modern additions have supported job creation and attracted global industry leaders.
