Bicester firm maintains 50:50 gender balance in workforce

Dalcour Maclaren, based in Bicester and specialising in utilities and infrastructure, has achieved a gender pay gap of 11.41 per cent and a 50:50 gender balance across its workforce for the second year running, according to its 2024/25 gender pay gap report.

Aaron McKenzie, chief people officer at Dalcour Maclaren, said: “Pay equity is something we look at in the round.

“It’s about how people progress, how performance is recognised, and how consistent we are as a business.

“What the data shows is that women here are moving into senior roles and accessing performance-related pay at high levels.”

The reported pay gap is below the UK average of 14 to 15 per cent, with many competitors recording gaps between 20 and 30 per cent.

The consultancy has also made progress on bonus pay.

The median bonus is now equal between men and women, and the mean bonus gap has fallen to 15 per cent.

Mr McKenzie said: “We’ve made good progress but maintaining that consistency as we grow will be key.”
