Bicester distillery earns 90 awards for its craft spirits

Sky Wave Distillery, based in Bicester, has now earned a total of 90 awards, including three new honours from the Great Taste Awards, and recently won the top prize at the Global Gin Masters.

The new awards include two stars for its Signature London Dry Gin and Triple Distilled Vodka, and one star for its Liberation London Dry Gin.

These accolades add to a growing list of awards the distillery has collected since being named the world’s best gin in 2020.

Rachel Hicks, co-founder of Sky Wave, said: “We have always believed that the liquid should do the talking.

“To reach 90 awards is a surreal milestone.

“We don’t have the luxury of relying on centuries of history or a massive marketing budget; our spirits simply have to be better than the competition when poured into a glass.”

Mr Parsons said: “We know that people are choosing to drink less but better, which is why we launched our ‘Drink Better’ campaign.

“These Great Taste awards, taking our awards total to 90 in 7 years, upholds our philosophy that to Drink Better you should demand the best.”

The Great Taste judging panel consists of more than 500 chefs, restaurateurs, buyers, critics and food writers who judge entries blind.
