Bicester Comedy Festival debuts with star-studded line-up
The first-ever Bicester Comedy Festival took place from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7, on Pingle Field, delivering stand-up shows for all ages.
Hosted by Andrew Bird, resident MC of Lone Wolf Comedy Club, the festival featured three headline acts each night and a dedicated children’s show during the day.
Friday night’s show opened with performances from Hatty Preston and Kae Kurd, headlined by Ed Gamble, co-host of the Off Menu podcast and winner of Taskmaster.
Sara Pascoe, known for hosting The Great British Sewing Bee and appearances on QI, Taskmaster, and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, headlined Sunday’s show.
The children’s programme featured The Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show, starring award-winning comedian Jarred Christmas and UK Loopstation Champion Jack ‘Hobbit’ Hobbs.
The festival also offered face painting, glitter tattoos, a joke contest, scavenger hunts, and an Usborne Books reading with Sarah.
Organised by Lone Wolf Comedy Club, which has hosted sold-out shows in Bicester for nine years, the weekend event aimed to celebrate comedy in the community.
