Bicester charity sports day boosts funds for Alzheimer’s UK
Retirees at Churchill Living apartments in Bicester collected £1,440 for Alzheimer’s UK through the event, which took place at Linden Lodge on Linden Road on Friday, June 26.
Twenty-seven residents took part in traditional sports day activities including the egg and spoon race, pass the ball down the line, hula hoop bean bag toss, tin can alley, and a quiz.
Carla Rogers, lodge manager at Linden Lodge, said: “We had a wonderful time at our charity sports day, the teams put everything into it and a lot of fun was had by all.
“We selected Alzheimer’s UK as our chosen charity as it means a lot to our residents.
“Everyone gave extremely generously on the day and we are very grateful to the Churchill Foundation for supporting us and doubling the amount we can donate to such an excellent cause.”
The Churchill Foundation also provided an afternoon tea and match funding.
Ms Rogers said: “It’s a great example of the community spirit on offer here at Linden Lodge, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part.”
