Bicester: All you can eat Chinese buffet closed in town
The Mandarin Buffet, a pan-Asian cuisine restaurant in 35 Market Square, Bicester, opened its doors last November to offer customers a broad range of dishes, made and served in house.
It replaced popular predecessor Toho 35, which shut down after food safety inspectors gave it a scathing zero-star hygiene rating the previous June.

Although reopened by the same team, The Mandarin won over inspectors when it was inspected before it closed in January this year, when it’s food hygiene was rated five out of five stars and ‘good’ in every category.
However, customers were dismayed to find the restaurant ‘temporarily’ closed around a month ago, with a sign in the door citing ‘gas issues’ as the reason for the unexpected closure.
The restaurant owners could not be reached for comment and no statement or explanation has been released by the business.
