BGT golden buzzer given to Celestial in fifth semi-final

Tonight’s semi-final began with a performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Matilda The Musical.

Eight more acts then took to the stage, battling it out for a place in this year’s live final next Saturday (May 30):

  • Baron & Vesper – Stunt act
  • Celestial – Drone art
  • The Hawkstone Farmers Choir – Choir group
  • Jake Banfield – Magician
  • James Miller – Singer
  • Juan Carlos – Dancer
  • Mr. Cherry – Stunt act
  • SOS! – Boyband

Who was awarded the last golden buzzer in the fifth BGT 2026 semi-final?

In each semi-final this year, one judge has the power to press the golden buzzer and send an act straight into the final.

Tonight KSI, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon Cowell pressed the golden buzzer together, following an “epic” drone display from Celestial.

Following the performance, Dixon said: “That was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen on this show.”

Cowell, after initially struggling to find the right words to describe the act, added: “That was one of the most beautiful, incredible productions we’ve had on this show for years.”

He continued: “I don’t think it gets better than that.”

The four judges then stepped up and pressed the golden buzzer together, much to the delight of the audience.

Viewers agreed that Celestial’s semi-final act was “absolutely amazing”.

One fan, commenting on Instagram, said: “This is beyond anything I have ever seen on this show! I’m not a fan of drones, but what these guys do with them is just magical!!

“An act like this has never won the show before, but I think these guys could do it! What a brilliant performance, they thoroughly deserved that golden buzzer!”



They will be joined in the final by the winner of tonight’s semi-final, decided through the public vote and revealed at the end of the show.

Who has been given a golden buzzer during the BGT live semi-finals?

Following tonight’s golden buzzer, five have now been awarded during this year’s live semi-finals:

  • Singer Matty Juniosa (semi-final one) – pressed by Amanda Holden
  • Dance group LMA  (semi-final two) – pressed by Alesha Dixon
  • Fire-juggler Liwei Yang (semi-final three) – pressed by KSI
  • Poet Sonny Green (semi-final four) – pressed by Simon Cowell
  • Celestial (semi-final five) – pressed by KSI, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell

What does the winner of BGT 2026 get?

There have been 18 winners of BGT since its first series in 2007, with magician Harry Moulding winning last year.

The winner of BGT will take home a prize of £250,000 and will also be given the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the royal family.
