Barratt and David Wilson Homes announce rise in volunteering
Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, which operates across Oxfordshire, completed 73 volunteering days in the year leading up to March 31, with staff supporting charities and community organisations across the region.
The increase comes as the company continues to strengthen its focus on giving back, with each employee entitled to two paid volunteering days per year.
Campbell Gregg, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many of our colleagues embracing the opportunity to volunteer and support worthwhile causes in the communities where we build.
“The increase in volunteering days reflects the passion our teams have for making a positive difference locally, and we’re incredibly proud of the time and energy they continue to give.
“We’re excited to build on this momentum and support even more charities and community groups in the year ahead.”
The announcement comes during Volunteers’ Week, which runs from June 1 to 7 and celebrates the contributions of volunteers across the UK.
One recent initiative saw a team of 22 employees volunteer with Bridge for Young People, a West Berkshire charity supporting young people leaving care or facing homelessness.
The team transformed an outhouse into a workshop space for practical and creative activities.
