The team from Safran CTG, who are the club’s Community Sponsor, rolled up their sleeves for a day of painting as part of their second volunteering stint.

Despite the wet weather, which restricted work to indoor and under-cover areas, the left-hand section of the Town End is now gleaming in red gloss, and the interior of one of the cabins was also stripped and painted.

The club expressed gratitude not only for the team’s ‘precious hours’ but also for their contribution in purchasing the paint and brushes.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Thanks to volunteers from Safran for another productive afternoon.

“Thanks to the team at Safran CTG, not only for your precious hours, but for the purchase of the paint and brushes.”

Safran CTG volunteers first began lending a helping hand after Banbury United announced them as their Community Sponsor.

The volunteers have been an active part of the club.

Despite the progress, the club officials admitted there is still much to be done, particularly on exterior areas.

They are crossing fingers for dry weather on their main volunteering day on Saturday, June 27.

The day will be open to all, including those not directly associated with the club, with further details to be announced.
