Banbury – man in 50s found dead in Cherwell Street

The man, in his 50s, was found in Cherwell Street, close to Banbury town centre, on Sunday morning (June 7).

Emergency services attended and closed the road temporarily while the incident was dealt with.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner will not investigate the cause.

A police spokeswoman said on Monday morning: “At around 11.45am yesterday, we were called to Cherwell Street following a sudden death.

“Sadly, a man in his 50s had died at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported at this time.

“The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
