Aston Villa loanee Luka Lynch reveals Aaron Ramsey Oxford United talks

The youngster’s signing was announced by Oxford on the morning after transfer deadline day, joining from Premier League club Villa on a free loan move with special dispensation from the EFL as the club remain under a temporary transfer embargo.

Lynch arrives in OX4 with a lot of excitement after an impressive pre-season with the Villans, scoring against European giants Porto as well as securing another goal and an assist.

The move to Oxford is a first loan move and a first taste of senior competitive football for the 19-year-old.

“[I] hope to break through,” Lynch admitted ahead of the U’s trip to Leicester City.

“Hope to just get out playing, get experience, get minutes and establish myself.”

The winger has been working under a world class manager in Emery and joins a United side managed by one of Emery’s former players in Ramsey.

The Yellows head coach worked under the five-time Europa League winner at Arsenal during the 2018/19 season.

Lynch revealed he has had some good conversations with Ramsey already at United.

“He’s happy to have me here,” the young Englishman continued.

“He’s looking forward to integrating me into the group.

“He’s asked me a lot of questions obviously about Unai…played under him as well.

“I’m just looking forward to working with him, looking forward to playing under him and enjoying my time here.”

The deal to bring Lynch to the Kassam Stadium was completed late on deadline day.

The Villa loanee is keen to entertain the fans of his new club.

“The move was kind of last minute, so I was out of there before I could even really let anyone know that I was leaving.

“I’ve had a couple of conversations with teammates and coaches just through text and over the phone to kind of tell them what the situation is, but they all wish me well and they’re excited to see me on the pitch very soon.

“[I am] very direct.

“I always look to go forward, look to create. I like to entertain the fans as well.

“I like to have fun on the pitch but there’s always the serious side as well.

“You want to win the game and that’s what’s most important.

“So just contributing to that, trying to provide goals and create chances.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge; just excited really. It’s a new experience for me.

“[I am] just hoping that I can adjust and adapt very quick and learn and progress forward.”
