The arduous journey, which concluded at the Earl of Abingdon on Sunday afternoon passed through key Second World War sites in France – Dunkirk, Calais, Pegasus Bridge, Caen, and Ouistreham, raising money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

The team, consisting of Simon Waller, Paul Blair, David Southey, Martin Conder and Luke Brandish, now plan to take on a range of challenges throughout the rest of the year.

Their next venture in July will be climbing the three highest mountains in the UK within 20 hours.

In December, they are planning to camp out in Oxford City Centre for four days to raise money for the Abingdon Bridge and Abingdon Town Amateur Boxing Club.
