Roythornes Solicitors, which has an office in Abingdon, received the ‘Green’ award from the Investors in the Environment (iiE) scheme, an environmental accreditation scheme.

The award reflects Roythornes’ ongoing commitment to sustainability and marks more than a decade of investment in greener ways of working, including installing solar panels on offices, introducing staff Electric Vehicle purchase schemes and launching office-wide recycling points.

Ann Barrasso, operations director at Roythornes, said: “We’re delighted and incredibly proud to have achieved the Green award again – especially as it’s our twelfth year of doing so.

“As a firm we work a lot with farmers and landowners and as such are very aware of how the issues of climate change and environmental impact are affecting businesses today.”

Ms Barrasso also credited the firm’s staff for their commitment.

She said: “This would not have happened without the enthusiasm and dedication of our brilliant people.

“We have over 300 staff across six offices and they have a genuine commitment to reducing our environmental impact and supporting our clients to do the same.”

The iiE scheme independently audits organisations against environmental standards, with the Green award representing its highest level of recognition.
