Abingdon celebrant wins award for her compassionate support
Fiona Mac, based in Abingdon, received the Jules Maxine Award at the first Celebration of Celebrants National Conference.
The award honours the late Jules Maxine, a founding member of the Celebrant Circle who was known for her warmth, humour and fierce loyalty to friends and colleagues.
Following her passing, the organisation introduced the award to recognise professional excellence, kindness, and community support.
Members of the Celebrant Circle nominate colleagues anonymously, sharing stories of those who go the extra mile to help and encourage fellow celebrants.
Jacqueline Cale, co-director of the Celebrant Circle Ltd, said: “Fiona stood out this year, receiving multiple nominations praising her compassion, discretion and willingness to support others.”
Ms Mac, who specialises in ceremonies across Oxfordshire and neighbouring counties, said: “Jules was a dear friend to many here, so this award feels extra special as it is in her name.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who nominated me and proud to be part of such a supportive community.”
With extensive experience in presenting and public speaking, Ms Mac crafts and delivers ceremonies for weddings, vow renewals, baby namings, and memorials that reflect individual values and stories.
She is also the founder of The Abingdon Compassionate Café.
The conference was held at the Abbey Hotel in Redditch.
