18 Oxfordshire people on King’s Birthday Honours list
This year’s recipients have made exceptional contributions to their communities and have been recognised for their selfless service to others.
Professor Richard Brabazon Macrory CBE has been knighted for his work in environmental law.
A former board member of the Office for Environmental Protection, Sir Richard hails from Kidlington.
Wendy Mira Becker, from Oxford, was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her contributions to business and charitable causes.

Lisa Marie Harker, director of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory, was also given a CBE for her work with children and young people.
Amazon’s UK and Ireland vice-president and country manager, John Gordon Boumphrey from Abingdon, received an OBE for his services to technology and the consumer and digital commerce industry.

Clare Hornby, a Burford resident and founder and chief executive of women’s fashion designer ME+EM, was recognised with an OBE for her influence in the fashion industry.
Bicester resident Sally Elizabeth Alexander, principal and chief executive of the Milton Keynes College Group, was made an MBE for her work in further education.
Sarah Eberle, from Witney, also received an MBE for her services to horticulture.
Jacqui Gitau, the Oxford-based director of African Families in the UK, was awarded an MBE for her work with migrant families in Oxfordshire.

Anthony Roy Perkins, from Bicester and the chief executive of The London Hostels Association London Ltd, was awarded an MBE for his services to housing and support for young people.
Oxford resident Craig Simmons was recognised with an MBE for his contributions to charitable causes and the community.
Dr Stephen Michael Smith, an executive director at CO2RE and associate professor of greenhouse gas removal at the University of Oxford, was awarded an MBE for his work in climate science.
Watchfield organic farmer Adam Twine was given an MBE for his services to community onshore wind.
Melanie Jane Houldershaw, Richard Geoffrey Horsford Kemp, and Martin Brotherton Spurrier were all awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for their contributions to local theatre, the community in Langford, and charitable causes in Oxfordshire, respectively.

Oxfordshire County Council‘s chief executive Martin Reeves, who lives in Warwick, has been made an OBE for services to local government.
Broadcaster Garry Richardson, who began his career at BBC Radio Oxford, is an MBE for services to sport broadcasting.
And Rabbi Dr Norman Solomon is also an MBE for services to the Jewish community and to interfaith relations in Oxfordshire.
